Burn garbage NFTS to earn SOL! Solana Wallet Phantom pushes new features to combat airdrop phishing

As the crypto ecosystem continues to grow, so does the number of bad practices that steal user money, such as dropping junk NFTS.

Due to Solana’s low processing fees, fraudsters would airdrop NFTS to customers and ask them to approve the transaction (which is essentially a malicious license) in order to create or demand free NFTS, in an attempt to steal their assets.

To address this issue and protect users from more secure wallet control, the Phantom, one of Solana’s largest wallets on the ecosystem, tweeted earlier today that it is excited to introduce the Burn NFT feature on all devices.

Safely remove junk NFTS and clean up your collection…

As an added bonus, when you burn those unwanted NFTS, you’ll even get some SOL in the process.”

If you also want to remove unwanted junk NFTS from your wallet and earn SOL, the steps are also very simple:

Select the NFT you want to Burn in the collection, click “Burn Token” in the upper right corner menu, then the system will display the name of the NFT, SOL rewards you can get, and other information. Check the box and click “Burn” in the lower right corner. Once the NFT is successfully burned,

The system will display the screen of “Token Burned”, and you will receive a small amount of SOL. Where are these SOL rewards from?

The official explanation is that the reward comes from the garbage NFTS used to pay for storage needs.

Phantom also said the team is working on more automated detection of spam NFTS, which will alert users to any malicious transactions that could compromise their assets or rights when they are tempted to use misleading websites.
