  1. Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has gold, silver, copper, iron, soil, phosphorus and other minerals. There are very rich oil and gas resources onshore and offshore along the eastern Persian Gulf coast. Located in the eastern part of the Rub al-Khali Desert, the Buraimi Oasis is a disputed area between Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Saudi Arabia’s oil production in 2005 was 526 million tons, ranking first in the world, with 430 million tons of oil exported and 36.3 billion tons of remaining recoverable reserves (accounting for 26% of global reserves). All three indicators ranked first in the world.

  1. Canada

In the world, Canada’s crude oil reserves are second only to Saudi Arabia, and up to 97% of its crude oil is oil sands. The existing oil sands reserves amount to 173.2 billion barrels, accounting for 81% of the world’s proven oil sands reserves.

  1. Brazil

With 15.3 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, Brazil ranks 15th in the world and second in South America (after Venezuela). Since the end of 2007, a number of super-large pre-salt oil and gas fields have been successively discovered in coastal areas, which are expected to reach 50 billion to 150 billion barrels, making it one of the top ten oil storage countries in the world.

  1. Russia

The country located in the Nordic Asian continent accounts for 11.64% of the world’s total oil production, with proven reserves of 60 billion barrels. There is still underexploited oil in Eastern Siberia, which may reach 4.7 billion barrels according to preliminary estimates. Oil production is 10.3 million barrels per day.

  1. China

In the late 1950s, huge oil reserves were discovered in the Northeast, which produced about 4.7% of global production. Like the United States, China is also the largest oil consumer, with proven reserves of about 20.35 billion barrels and a daily output of 4.19 billion barrels.

Oil, one of the main targets of geological exploration, is a viscous, dark brown liquid known as the “blood of industry”. In the upper crust, there are oil reserves. Its main component is a mixture of various alkanes, naphthenes and aromatic hydrocarbons.

There are two theories about the oil-forming mechanism of petroleum, biological sedimentation and petrochemical oil. The former believes that oil is formed by organisms in ancient times and lakes after long-term evolution, which belongs to biological sedimentation and becomes oily and cannot be regenerated; the latter believes that oil is formed by organisms themselves. The carbon production is biologically independent and renewable. Oil is mainly used as fuel and gasoline , and is also the raw material for many chemical products, such as solutions, fertilizers, pesticides, and plastics.
