On September 11, according to Jordanian media reports, the Jordanian energy minister said that the supply of crude oil from Iraq to Jordan has been suspended due to problems with Iraq’s logistics system.
Jordanian Energy Minister Kharabsheh said Iraq had committed to supply Jordan with crude oil under an agreement between the two countries. Under the agreement signed by the two countries in 2019, Jordan will receive 10,000 barrels of Iraqi crude oil per day, at a discount of $16 per barrel to Brent crude oil, which is equivalent to 7% of Jordan’s daily oil needs.
