Israel Stocks Close Higher: TA 35 Index Up 1.37%

Israeli stocks ended on a positive note after Sunday’s trading session, with gains primarily driven by the Banking, Financials, and Communication sectors.

At the close of trading in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 index rose by 1.37%.

Among the top performers within the TA 35 index were Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TASE: DSCT), which saw an increase of 3.59% or 65.00 points to reach 1,878.00 at the closing bell. Similarly, ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TASE: ICL) gained 3.50% or 65.00 points, closing at 1,922.00, while Leumi (TASE: LUMI) surged by 3.41% or 99.00 points to settle at 2,998.00 by the end of the trading day.

Conversely, some of the session’s underperformers included Camtek Ltd (TASE: CAMT), which experienced a decline of 2.80% or 850.00 points, closing at 29,520.00. NICE Ltd (TASE: NICE) also faced a decrease of 2.62% or 2,470.00 points, ending the session at 91,780.00, while Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE: ENOG) dropped by 2.38% or 117.00 points to finish at 4,800.00.

In terms of market breadth, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, with 293 stocks advancing, 165 declining, and 81 remaining unchanged.

In commodities trading, May delivery crude oil saw a slight uptick of 0.16% or 0.14, reaching $86.73 a barrel. Brent oil for June delivery also experienced a modest increase of 0.23% or 0.21, reaching $90.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, the June Gold Futures contract rose by 1.76% or 40.60, trading at $2,349.10 per troy ounce.

Against the Israeli Shekel, the USD/ILS pair was up by 0.34% to 3.76, while the EUR/ILS pair rose by 0.46% to 4.08.

The US Dollar Index Futures showed a gain of 0.17% at 104.07.
