Hong Kong — Jamie Goodman, a former partner at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., has been granted a regulatory license for his hedge fund firm, Pamalican Asset Management Ltd., as announced on August 2 by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). The firm is backed by Millennium Management LLC.
The license marks a significant development for Pamalican Asset Management Ltd., which specializes in equity capital markets. This approval comes at a time when Hong Kong’s financial watchdog is intensifying its scrutiny of large-scale transactions, commonly referred to as block trades.
Goodman’s successful license acquisition reflects both his significant industry experience and the growing influence of Millennium Management in the hedge fund sector. The SFC’s decision underscores its ongoing efforts to regulate and monitor the evolving landscape of financial markets in the region.
