Taiwan Stocks Close Lower: Taiwan Weighted Declines 1.17%

Taiwan’s stock market ended lower on Wednesday, with the Taiwan Weighted index dropping by 1.17%. The decline was primarily driven by losses in the Other Electronic and Machinery sectors, which led shares lower by the close of trading.

Top Performers Despite the overall market downturn, some stocks showed strong performances. Hota Industrial Mfg. Co Ltd (TW:1536) was the biggest gainer, up 9.93%, adding 6.00 points to reach a closing price of 66.40. Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472) followed closely, also increasing by 9.92%, adding 6.00 points to finish at 66.50. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) also had an impressive run, rising 9.90% or 1.50 points to close at 16.65, marking a three-year high.

Worst Performers On the other hand, some stocks faced significant losses. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) experienced the largest drop, falling 9.85% or 0.39 points to close at 3.57. Trk Corp (TW:1432) lost 6.76% or 1.45 points, ending at 20.00. Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) also saw a decline of 6.33%, dropping 95.00 points to close at 1,405.00.

Market Overview Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, though specific numbers weren’t provided. The day also saw notable movement in commodities and currency trading:
