The calculation principle of us dollar index futures is based on the trade settlement volume between major countries in the world and the United States. The overall strength of the US dollar is calculated in a weighted manner, and 100 points are used as the strength dividing line. After the launch of the euro on January 1, 1999, the subject matter of this futures contract was adjusted, from 10 countries to 6 countries, and the euro became the most important and weighted currency , with a weight of 57.6%, therefore, the volatility of the euro has the greatest impact on the strength of USDX.
Calculation formula:
USDX = 50.14348112 × EURUSD(-0.576) × USDJPY (0.136) × GBPUSD(-0.119) × USDCAD(0.091) × USDSEK (0.042) × USDCHF(0.036). Note: (the power in parentheses is not an arithmetic multiplication)
