More than one-third of China’s coal is used for power generation, and the average coal consumption for power generation is about 370g/ (kW¡¤h) standard coal. Power plants use the calorific value of coal to convert heat energy into electricity.

Accounting for more than 13% of power coal, cement coal most, and glass, brick, tile and so on.

Power coal accounts for about 3%, and the average coal consumption index of steam locomotive and boiler is about 100kg/(ten thousand tons ¡¤km).

In addition to thermal power plants and large heating boilers, general enterprises and industrial boilers used for heating have many kinds, many quantities and scattered, accounting for about 26% of the coal consumption.

Coke is made from coking coal or a mixture of coal at high temperature.

Coke is mainly used in steelmaking, it is the main raw material of the steel industry, known as the basic food of the steel industry.

Domestic coal is large, accounting for about 23% of fuel coal.

The consumption of metallurgical steam coal is less than 1% of the power coal consumption. Metallurgical steam coal is mainly used for sintering and blast furnace injection.
