NYDIG, a bitcoin financial services company, has entered into a partnership with the MLB Yankees to become the team’s official Bitcoin payroll platform, allowing Yankees employees to become part of NYDIG’s Bitcoin savings plan for a more diverse range of salary options.
According to a NYDIG announcement, NYDIG’s Bitcoin Savings program will enable Yankees employees to convert a portion of their after-tax salary into Bitcoin through its platform without any transaction fees or storage fees.
However, employees cannot transfer assets from the platform or receive bitcoins from outside sources. They can only sell bitcoins within the platform.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to expand and improve our employee experience,” said Aryn Sobo, vice president of human resources for the Yankees.
NYDIG can easily add Bitcoin to our employee benefits and look forward to using the NYDIG platform to offer this opportunity to our employees.
NYDIG marketing team Kelly Brewster also said that converting a portion of your salary into bitcoin may be the most efficient way to hoard bitcoin.
With dollar-cost averaging, the bumps along the way will be smoothed out.
