In 1971, before denomination, one pound was equal to 20 shillings; and 1 shilling was equal to 12 pence. In other words, one pound is equal to 240 pence. The coins at that time were divided into:

Farthing (a quarter of a penny, where the penny refers to the old penny, the same below. The last minting was in 1956, and it ceased circulation at the end of 1960)

Half Penny (half penny, half of a penny) One, last minted in 1967, ceased to circulate on August 1, 1969)

One Penny (one penny, last minted in 1967, ceased to circulate on August 31, 1971)

Three Pence (3 pence, or quarters One shilling, last minted in 1967, ceased to circulate 31 August 1971)

Six Pence (6 pence, or half shilling, last minted in 1967, ceased to circulate June 1980)

One Shilling (one shilling Shillings, last minted in 1967, used as a 5p coin in 1971 after denomination, and discontinued in late 1990 with older versions of the new 5p coin)

Two Shillings (aka Florin, 2 shillings, last minted is In 1967, 1971, after the denomination of the currency, it can be used as 10 new pennies. On July 1, 1993, the old version of the new 10p coin ceased to circulate)
