Gas fertilizer coal is a kind of strong viscous fat coal with high volatile content and high colloidal layer, and some are called liquid fat coal. The coking performance is between that of fat coal and gas coal, and a large amount of gas and liquid chemical products can be produced when coking alone.
In China’s national coal classification standard, the name of bituminous coal is between gas coal and fat coal. This standard stipulates that the dry ashless volatile matter of gas-fertilized coal (see coal analysis) Vdaf>37%, and the maximum thickness y of the rubber layer (see the rubber layer index)>25mm. Gas fertilizer coal has low coalification degree, high volatile content and strong cohesiveness. When heated, a large amount of gas and colloid can be generated, but the thermal stability of the colloid is poor.
The degree of metamorphism of gas-fertilized coal is low, and the optical structure of single-coal coking is dominated by fine-grain mosaic structure, which is not conducive to its blending and coking. However, aerosol colloids are abundant and have good fluidity. The formed colloid has good spreadability among coal particles, which can promote the adhesion between coal particles and improve the quality of coke. It should be reasonably applied in coal blending and coking.
