Golden Ten Data, August 15 News, sources said that Kazakhstan is expected to start sending oil to Western markets next month through Azerbaijan’s largest oil pipeline “Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan” in order to reduce its oil consumption. Reliance on Russia as a transit point.
For 20 years, Kazakhstan has relied on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) via Russia to export oil to the market. But since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, these pipeline supplies have been interrupted several times.
PetroKazakhstan is in advanced talks with the trade arm of Azerbaijan’s state oil company to allow up to 1.5 million tonnes (30,000 bpd) of Kazakh oil per year to be sent to Baku via the Caspian Sea. The final contract will be signed at the end of this month, and supplies will begin a month later.
Kazakhstan’s energy minister Bolat Akchulakov said recently that the country’s oil production this year may be higher than the original target of 85.5 million tons . Akchulakov said in a press conference:
“We believe we are capable of exceeding the target and we have no need for a downward revision. If everything is in order and our outlet pipeline is running steadily, there will be no problem. Scheduled repairs are over.”
