Commenting on the idea of western countries to limit the price of Russian energy resources, Russian energy minister Nikolay shulginov said that Russia will not provide its own oil and gas at a loss or below the cost price.
At the special meeting held on September 9, the energy ministers of EU Member States discussed additional measures that the EU may take to deal with the soaring energy prices, including the possibility of limiting the price of Russian natural gas.
The meeting also studied the possibility of requiring consumers to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours, and imposing income caps on companies that generate electricity at low cost and make excessive profits from high prices.
