2024 – Recent figures from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) reveal that open-ended equity mutual fund inflows experienced a notable decline in July, reaching Rs 37,113.39 crore. This represents a decrease of nearly 9% compared to previous months, primarily attributed to reduced investments in large-cap and mid-cap funds.
Despite the drop in equity fund inflows, the overall net assets under management (AUM) for the mutual fund industry increased significantly, reaching Rs 64,96,653.14 crore in July. This marks a continued growth trend following a record high of Rs 40,608.19 crore in equity mutual fund inflows in June, and an impressive surge of 83.42% to Rs 34,697 crore in May.
The July figures highlight a cooling period after several months of record-breaking inflows, reflecting a shift in investor sentiment and market dynamics.
