New Delhi, Oct 22 (PTI) – Gold prices saw an increase of Rs 279, reaching Rs 78,318 per 10 grams in futures trading on Tuesday, driven by speculators building positions in response to robust spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for December delivery rose by Rs 279, or 0.36%, with a trading volume of 14,924 lots.
Analysts attributed the price increase to the fresh positions established by market participants.
In international markets, gold futures also experienced a rise of 0.58%, trading at USD 2,735.50 per ounce in New York.
