Brazilian Stocks Close Higher, Bovespa Rises 0.01%

Brazilian stocks finished higher on Monday, with gains in the Electric Power, Basic Materials, and Telecom sectors boosting market sentiment. The Bovespa index edged up by 0.01%, closing at 116,599.73 points.

Sector and Stock Performance

Among the top performers on the Bovespa, Azul SA Pref surged 5.36%, gaining 0.18 points to close at 3.54. Brava Energia SA also saw a solid gain of 4.21%, adding 0.95 points to settle at 23.52, while Lwsa SA rose 3.11%, climbing 0.10 points to 3.32.

On the downside, Automob Participações SA dropped 2.86%, falling 0.01 points to close at 0.34, marking an all-time low. Ambev SA declined by 2.73%, losing 0.33 points to finish at 11.74, while IRB Brasil Resseguros SA fell 2.08%, down 0.90 points to 42.45.

Market Breadth

On the B3 Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 544 to 409, with 55 stocks closing unchanged.

Commodities and Currency Update

In commodities, Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.38%, closing at $2,621.82 per ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for February delivery rose 0.81%, hitting $71.17 per barrel, and US coffee for March delivery dropped 1.19%, settling at $318.80 per pound.

On the currency markets, the USD/BRL decreased by 0.30%, closing at 6.18, while the EUR/BRL fell 0.44%, ending at 6.43.

The US Dollar Index Futures gained 0.09%, rising to 107.89.
