Colombia Stocks End Lower, COLCAP Declines 0.60%

Colombian stocks closed lower on Friday, with declines in the Financials, Investment, and Public Services sectors leading to a drop in the market. At the end of trading, the COLCAP index was down 0.60%.

Among the best performers on the COLCAP were Grupo Nutresa SA (BVC:NCH), which surged by 9.89%, or 9,000 points, to reach 100,000.00. Canacol Energy Ltd (BVC:CNE) gained 2.89%, or 320 points, closing at 11,400.00, and Grupo Argos SA (BVC:ARG) rose by 2.42%, or 480 points, to finish at 20,300.00.

On the other hand, the worst performers of the session included Cementos Argos Pf (BVC:CCB_p), which fell 5.53%, or 620 points, to close at 10,600.00. Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA Pref (BVC:GAA_p) dropped 1.98%, or 11 points, to end at 545.00, and Organizacion Terpel SA (BVC:TPL) declined 1.30%, or 160 points, to finish at 12,120.00.

Overall, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombia Stock Exchange.

Grupo Nutresa’s shares rose to an all-time high, increasing by 9.89%, or 9,000 points, to reach 100,000.00.

In commodities, US coffee for March delivery rose 1.98%, or 8.00, to $411.95, while US cocoa for March delivery fell 3.17%, or 320.00, to $9,774.00. The April Gold Futures contract increased by 0.42%, or 12.06, to trade at $2,888.76 per troy ounce.

Currency-wise, USD/COP fell 0.53% to 4,119.75, while BRL/COP dropped 1.34% to 709.26. The US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.37% to 107.94.
